Kim Woodburn—better known to millions as the “Queen of Clean”—passed away peacefully after a short illness at the age of 83. Her commanding presence, no-nonsense attitude, and razor-sharp wit made her a household name.

Kim first rose to fame co‑hosting How Clean Is Your House? (2003–2009) alongside Aggie MacKenzie, before going on to star in reality shows like I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! (2009) and Celebrity Big Brother (2017). 2

👶 From Humble Beginnings to National Star

Born Patricia Mary McKenzie on March 25, 1942, in Eastney, Hampshire, Kim endured a challenging childhood marked by abuse. She left home at 16, moving to Liverpool where she worked as a live-in cleaner, social worker, beautician, model, and more 3.

A poignant chapter in her life came at 23, when she tragically delivered a stillborn baby son, an event she candidly shared in her 2006 memoir Unbeaten 4.

🧼 Cleaning Up Britain’s Filthiest Homes

In 2002, Channel 4 spotted her personality and paired her with Aggie MacKenzie for what became a smash-hit show. Their mission? Transforming grim, filthy homes into clean, habitable spaces. Kim’s sharp humor and Aggie’s science-led approach created magic—and made them household staples 5.

  • Frequent guest on shows like *Loose Women*, *This Morning*, and other daytime TV—never afraid to speak her mind 8.

💬 Fierce, Funny & Real

From feuding with Coleen Nolan on Loose Women to championing honesty on live TV, Kim kept viewers glued to their screens. She once said:

“I’m a nice person, but if you are telling me lies… I’ll call you out.” 9

Her reputation for speaking truth, pushing back on “woke” culture, and standing firm even when it got messy earned her respect—and made her a true icon 10.

❤️ A Beloved Icon

Following her passing, heartfelt tributes poured in. Her manager reflected:

“Kim was an incredibly kind, caring, charismatic and strong person. Her husband Peter is heartbroken…” 11
